BASF grants contractor award to DKA

Dresdner Kühlanlagenbau GmbH (DKA) has won the BASF award for contractors in the “Technical Building Equipment Installation” category for the seventh time. The award was presented in Ludwigshafen in late July in honor of DKA’s “excellent, reliable, and high-quality performance of services” for the chemical group in the previous year.

DKA specializes in cooling, refrigeration and air conditioning technology. The company is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the cooling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems and equipment at the BASF location in Ludwigshafen. DKA has been a part of the Dussmann Group, a family company based in Berlin, since 2013. In 2019, it became a business unit of Dussmann Technical Solutions, which works in the areas of electrical engineering, cooling, refrigeration and air conditioning technology, elevator technology, and process automation, providing industrial engineering and technical services.

The eleven award winners were selected after an analysis of technical, process-related, and business figures, with special weight given to personal feedback from the BASF units involved. The aspects evaluated include how well contractors observe occupational health and safety rules and specified deadlines and how effectively and flexibly they manage things like disruptions. Process stability and availability are key factors here.

DKA, Germany’s largest manufacturer-independent builder of cooling and refrigeration systems, is celebrating its 70^th anniversary in 2023. It has maintained a service point for BASF in Ludwigshafen for nearly 25 years now. In addition to maintenance of cooling, refrigeration and air conditioning technology, DKA also participates in BASF’s control room cooling concept through services such as specialized development work and by implementing the desired plans.
